Maria Sybilla Merian, The Silk Worm, The Moth and The Butterflies  started life as a picture book biography of the 17th century entomologist, shopkeeper, illustrator and bookmaker, Maria Sybilla Merian. Developed during my MA in Children's book illustration studies, Maria’s biography and her love for insects consequently inspired this story. WIP
